Effective Date: 21 May 2026 · Version 2.1
Welcome to JEMI ("the App"), a family organisation platform operated by NR Empowered Wellness (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in the Republic of South Africa.
These Terms & Conditions are a single combined agreement that covers your use of the App and how we handle your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). By ticking the consent box in the App, downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to everything below. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
What's inside
Before the legal language, here are the three things we most want you to understand. The detail is in the sections that follow.
JEMI is a family planning aid — not an authoritative record. We do our best to keep reminders, notifications and shared information accurate, but things like device settings, operating-system limits, network issues, app updates and ordinary software bugs mean a reminder may fire late, not at all, or with incorrect details.
For anything that genuinely matters — medical appointments, medication, flights, school deadlines, exams, legal dates, payment dates — please verify with the original source (your doctor, school, airline, bank, etc.). You remain responsible for your own and your family's arrangements. When you tick "I understand" in the App, you are confirming you have read this.
JEMI offers a paid subscription with a free trial. After the trial, your subscription renews automatically through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Play Store settings — we recommend cancelling at least 48 hours before the next renewal date (the stores require at least 24 hours).
Once a renewal has been charged we are not able to refund it, but cancelling immediately stops any future charges. You'll keep premium access until the end of the period you've already paid for. If you believe you were charged in error, please email support@jemi.co.za and we'll do our best to help, but final refund decisions are made by Apple or Google under their store policies.
JEMI is a tool to help families stay organised. It is not a medical, legal, financial, safety or emergency service, and you should not rely on it as one. Reminders, notifications and AI suggestions can be delayed, missed or wrong.
To the maximum extent allowed by the law applicable to you (whether that is South African law, the law of England and Wales, Australian law or New Zealand law), JEMI, NR Empowered Wellness (Pty) Ltd, its directors, owners, employees, contractors and affiliates are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, missed event, missed appointment, missed medication, financial loss or other harm that arises from your use of (or inability to use) the App, including any reliance on reminders, notifications, AI suggestions, or shared family information. You use JEMI at your own discretion and remain responsible for your own decisions and arrangements.
You must be at least 18 years old to create a family account. Children may use the App under the supervision of a parent or guardian who has accepted these Terms & Conditions and provided POPIA consent on their behalf.
You agree to use the App only for lawful, personal, family-organisation purposes. You may not:
Monthly Plan: a recurring monthly subscription, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. The exact price depends on the country your Apple App Store or Google Play account is registered in and is always shown in your local currency on the in-app purchase screen before you confirm.
Current monthly price points:
Prices include applicable VAT, GST or other consumption taxes. The price displayed on the in-app purchase screen is the authoritative price for your account. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with at least 30 days' notice through the App or by email.
Where a free trial is offered, it converts into a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial expires.
This section explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. JEMI is available in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. By accepting these Terms & Conditions you consent to the processing of your personal information as described here. This policy is written to satisfy the strictest of the privacy laws that apply to our user base — the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 — and the country-specific sections at the end (8.13) set out additional rights granted to users in each of the other three countries (South Africa — POPIA, Australia — Privacy Act 1988 / Australian Privacy Principles, New Zealand — Privacy Act 2020).

All third-party service providers process personal information under written agreements (Data Processing Agreements) that require them to maintain appropriate security and confidentiality measures in line with UK GDPR (Art. 28), POPIA (s.21), the Australian Privacy Principles and the NZ Privacy Act 2020.
Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, primarily the United States and the European Union, where our service providers operate. We rely on the following transfer mechanisms:
We share only the minimum data needed for each provider to perform its function.
JEMI is designed for family use and may include information about children. Children do not have their own JEMI accounts. A child's profile is created and managed entirely by their parent or guardian, who is the account holder and is responsible for the information stored about that child. We do not collect data directly from children, do not knowingly allow children under 13 (or under 16 in the UK and EU) to create their own accounts, and do not use children's data for marketing, advertising, profiling or targeted content. This approach is intended to meet the UK Age Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code), POPIA s.35, the Australian Privacy Act children's provisions, and the NZ Privacy Act 2020.
You have the following rights in relation to your personal information. The exact wording varies by country but the practical effect is broadly the same — you can ask us to show you, fix, export or delete your data, and you can tell us to stop.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@jemi.co.za. We will respond within 30 days (or one month in the UK).
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure database hosting with access controls, device-based authentication, and regular security reviews. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
JEMI is a mobile application and does not use cookies. We do not track your browsing activity across other applications or websites.

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by the law applicable to you (whether that is South African law, the law of England and Wales, Australian law or New Zealand law), we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
JEMI is not a medical, legal, financial, safety or emergency service. You should not rely on the App as the sole means of tracking medication, medical appointments, child supervision, safety-critical events, or any other matter where missing or delayed information could cause harm.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NR Empowered Wellness (Pty) Ltd, its directors, owners, employees, contractors and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms & Conditions or your misuse of the App.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa — except that, where you are a consumer ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom, Australia or New Zealand, nothing in this clause takes away the mandatory protection that the consumer laws of your country of residence give you, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence where local law gives you that right.
